A couple weeks ago I went with friends to a really random night...Magic Castle's award night! Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris! It was a crazy little night with a long awards show.

Don't you just love the blogging world? I love sharing fun new fashion finds and getting support in tough life choices and hilarious jokes and inspirational quotes... I love the comments to and from blogging friends.

Thank you for all the happy thoughts!! I did get an outstanding review for my final reviews of the school year. It's been great!! Although I still need some more luck for the future...the teaching profession is so unpredictable! So keep those happy thoughts around for me :) You all rock!

I Want!!

I am in total lust for these and yet there is no Target, for as far as I can see, that has them in stock :( Anyone interested in purchasing and sending them to me?! I'll pay for shipping. It's one of those wish list items that I totally want for summer, but can't find.

Harry Potter Took Over The Gap!

You know how in Harry Potter movies the newspapers and posters come to life? Well I clicked over to Gap and that's what's happening there!! The clothes are being modeled on the website. It totally freaked me out!! I think I like it though...

Anyway...do any of you have the Gap Always Skinny Jeans? I'm in search of new jeans and need advice!!

This weekend I am celebrating the boy's 30th birthday!! So we're off to have so much fun!!! I'll be back on Tuesday!! :) Have a wonderful weekend!!

1. Who is your style icon?

I love Audrey Hepburn! Her classic style is truly iconic!

I also love Sarah Jessica Parker...although I wonder if I love the Carrie Bradshaw style more? :)

2. What is your favorite socialite lit book?

I don't know if I have a true favorite socialite book. I do like Swell...that's kinda preppy!

Other than that I'm loving chick lit, especially any books published by Red Dress Ink. They are the best!

3. Favorite party theme?

I'm always in for any theme party!! I most recently went to a flapper murder mystery party. So fun! In college there were always exchanges and dances and parties to dress-up for. My personal favorite is toga!

It's not a "go to", but I do like just a little glitter, sparkle, curl kinda fun outfit!

5. Extravagance you cannot live without?

I cannot live without my cell phone, or laptop, or camera!

Although I also can't live without my Starbucks!

6. Living person you admire?

I'd have to say my brother. He's a United States Marine. Completely fighting for freedom, so self-less and courageous. I love him.

7. Greatest Fear?

Greatest? The unknown...especially that whole end of life, now what part. But even so there's also the unknown of like...next school year! It's a little scary.

8. Trait you deplore in yourself?

I don't know that I deplore it too much, but I know it can get in the way of everything else. I try to control everything. Even if I don't really realize it. I just want it all to go my way! :)

9. Which talent would you most like to have?

I'd love to be able to dance, without the stress and extra practice. I can dance out at a bar or a wedding, but I mean dancing, with steps, onstage. I'd love to be a more "natural" dancer.

10. Greatest Achievement?

I'd say my greatest achievement so far is completing my first year of teaching, well almost! It's been a rewarding and fun experience, but one of the most stressful of my life!! I'd do it all again though...

In college I was in Kappa Delta sorority and we worked with Prevent Child Abuse America. And now continuing to work with children as a teacher I would love to be able to donate, time, money, anything to children.

I love these!! I know that you're supposed to wash your face every night, but sometimes I'm just so sleepy...and these are quick and easy to get all of the make-up from the day off.

2. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizing Lotion

I love this lotion. It adds a little glow and almost self-tanner to your skin. Nice and natural. It also comes in a firming version, which I don't know if it really works, but I'm ok with letting it try!

Flapper Murder Mystery

Last night I went to a friend's birthday party. It was a murder mystery party! The mystery was set in the 20s, so it was so much fun to dress up! The actual playing of the game was fun, but at times totally complicated with almost 30 or so people and trying to keep track of who likes who, who you don't like and who you need to stay away from to survive!! All in all a fun way to celebrate!

1. What color do you wear the most?

I wear black and white the most. I'll use color as more of an accent, like in my maroon flats or yellow heels.

2. Would you rather have $10,000 dollars or a dream vacation?

I'd take the money, pay off bills and hopefully have enough left over for a dream vacation to Paris. Although I'd really be stretching those dollars!

3. Do you have a weird, quirky or unusual habit?

When cooking I clean as I go, like putting away the spices or washing dishes when I'm done with them. This is only weird when cooking with other people. It drives the boy crazy! He's always saying "where'd it go?!" Sorry babe!

4. I really need to start..........?

Getting my homework done!! It's due tonight and I need to get it done already!! :)

5. What was the first blog you ever read?

This isn't her first blog, but it's the first person's blog I read. My friend Melissa was the one to introduce me to the blogging world. Check out her blog here.

6. Do you collect anything?

I collect purses! I have a lot of vintage clutches that I love! I also have a small and growing collection of snowglobes. These come from the boy when he travels abroad...love them!

7. How old were you when you had your first kiss?

The first "real" kiss I count was at a school dance freshman year of high school. It was during a Boys to Men song...cheesy!

8. Do you text/twitter while driving?

Nope! Ok, well really it's because it's illegal to do, but if I'm sitting at a red light I'll check texts once in a while.

Roaring 20s

I'm going to a murder mystery party!! It is a flapper theme so I'm on the search for a perfect feathered headband to go with the green dress I have. And the dress isn't a typical flapper dress, but one from Forever 21 that looks flapper inspired (and of course isn't on the website to share!)

So what do you think? Which one is the best Roaring 20s style?

San Diego Vacay!

Here are a few pictures from my quick mini vacay to San Diego. The boy and I went down and visited his mom. We all went out to La Jolla and enjoyed the tidal pools, a fabulous lunch and some shopping!

Thankful Thursday

I think you can tell I'm on Spring Break...so much time to blog! :)

I ran across Thankful Thursdays by Tracy over at Then I Got to Thinking and thought I'd give it a try!

I'm thankful for my family. I had a fabulous Easter with family (aunts, uncles, cousins) I hadn't seen in years and years. It was wonderful to have a day of love and laughter.

I'm thankful for Beatles Rockband. My boy got it for me at Christmas and I love playing!! I'm a little bossy when it comes to rockband, well among other things, so I'm the singer!! I did try the drums recently and did pretty well. And The Beatles - love them!

While in San Diego...and then again at the mall...I found a couple of cute new items for my wardrobe! Love the sales that are out there for the end of the winter season and the start of the spring season.

This adorable silk drawstring blouse is from Banana Republic. It was mis-marked on the sale rack so I got it for $20!!

This basic tee is from American Apparel and I love it! It's a little lighter stripes than the picture...

I also purchased a cute little dolman sleeve sweater from Forever 21, but can't find it online. Don't you just love shopping?!?
