Day 6: Best Organization Tricks
I LOVE organizing!! :) I know this might sound weird to some of you, but it is literally so much fun to me. I even thought of becoming a professional organizer...although I don't know if I always like other people's messes, haha!!
{Simplify}
Get rid of the extras! If you have tons of clothes, shoes, baking supplies, whatever it may be, you need to go through it and get rid of the extraneous things you don't use. One of my favorite things to do with girlfriends is to have fashion parties. This is just when we get together at one of our places and go through the closet. Bring some wine and it'll be less painful for the girl donating those clothes :)
{Lists/Planners}
I love to make to do lists. The accomplishment of crossing the items off helps encourage me to get through the list. And haven't we all included something on the to do list that was already done, just so we could cross it off? :)
And planners help so much!! It helps to lay it all out to see where you have time to get things done and to look ahead to special events too.
{Categorize}
If you have some shoes here, some shoes there or nail polish in this drawer and some over in this cabinet, you'll never be able to find what you're looking for. Just group like with like and you'll be well on your way to organization.
I think above all remember that organization has to work for you. Having someone else's system of filing or organizing your closet will only work if you think the same way. If not, it'll just be disorganized again so quickly.

I get rid of clothes too! I can't stand to keep them around if I know I won't wear them. I don't think I could live without my planners and lists!

I am amazed and in awe of this because organization does not come naturally to me at all! I hate the act of it, but I love the results. Kind of a conundrum. You might faint if you saw my closet right now--it's ridiculous--I need to start using some of these tips, stat!
You are so right about not being able to follow someone's organization system unless you think the same way. No wonder I can't fix my disorganized husband!! :)

I am seriously obsessed with organizing! And I love throwing things away {except my scrapbook paper, I can't even part with the scraps!} Anyway, organizing is the best and you are great at it!
