The Shine Project - Giveaway

Have you all heard about The Shine Project? I first posted about the lovely Ashley and The Shine Project here and again when I share The Change for Change Project here.

Ashley is the creative genius behind the Shine Project. She is spreading shine around by doing all sorts of charitable acts of kindness.

She sells these adorable necklaces and the proceeds go towards a scholarship for inner city school students to go to college! How awesome is that?!

The Shine Project also sells Shine t-shirts, just like the one in the picture above. Proceeds also goes towards the scholarship fund.

The Shine Project's newest venture is The Change for Change project is an ongoing service effort to collect change from now until October 2011. All of the change collected across the country will be benefit The Shine Project Scholarship Fund, wihch will give scholarships to inner city school students to help change their lives and future educational careers.

Lately I've Been Watching...

This summer I've been catching up on all sorts of movies and T.V. shows. This week I watched The September Issue!! It's a documentary following the editor of Vogue. It's basically the reality of The Devil Wears Prada and it's so good! Completely made me want to go into the fashion industry...

I've also been watching Greek. It's hilarious! If you were ever in a fraternity or sorority you have to watch. Very accurate and so funny. There's a couple cute boys too, that never hurts :)

Go Bolts

Football!!

I'm loving that football is finally back!! I'm a huge Chargers fan!! We had season tickets last year and it was so much fun to go to all the games. I think we'll be going to at least three games this season.

So this season I joined the Lightning Ladies, a fan club for ladies that love the Chargers!! I'm excited to go to their first VIP event :)

Do you follow football?? It is so much fun!! Now to get into a fantasy league...

Kappa Delta Convention

I'm an adviser for the UCLA chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority, Alpha Iota. Basically that just means I advise the girls in Kappa Delta at UCLA :) Because of this I was able to go to KD's Convention this summer in Tucson, Arizona. Four full days of inspirational speakers and meeting fabulously successful women. It was an amazing experience...

This is me with the girls from the UCLA chapter of Kappa Delta.

It was so much fun to reconnect with girls I went to college with too! Here I am with Kelly and her little KD legacy :)

The convention committee of national officers did a fabulous job of making everything special while we were there. Here are our letters projected out onto a dessert mountain at night.

One day we did a walk for the Confidence Coalition. It was so much fun to get out and do a quick walk around the hotel grounds. Gorgeous, but just a little hot, even at 8 in the morning!!

Convention's are held every two years and there are awards given out for all sorts of different honors within the past two years. Here we are with our awards. Our advisory board won for our advising!! That means we were one of about ten boards recognized for our work with the chapter. All of my hard work pays off!

One of the breakout sessions we had was about breaking barriers. We literally broke pieces of wood, like karate chop style! Here's my picture as proof that I did it, and in heels too!

This is our picture with the National Council of Kappa Delta. These amazing women give of themselves to our organization and it is just such an honor to meet them.

And on our last night, after a spectacular awards dinner, all of our UCLA members and advisers with the National President of Kappa Delta.

And really there was so much more that we participated in, like meeting Leigh Anne Tuohy the inspiration for The Blind Side movie and just having talks with women around the country about all kinds of ideas.

I had such an amazing time at convention this summer. I can't wait to attend another conference!

Palm Springs

Well, I'm not there yet, but I'm looking for advice on where to stay, where to eat and just where to go when we do go to Palm Springs. I'd love to stay within walking distance of restaurants. And a fabulous pool is a must!!

Have you been on the tram? Is it worth the money to get up there? What about dining up there?

Enough questions, haha!! What advice do you have for me...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving how understanding my boyfriend is...

I have been feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and just anxious about finding a teaching position in the fall. He listens, reminds me that it's out of my hands, and just makes me feel better about it all.

I'm loving the kickball team I joined!

I'll be playing on The Ponies of Death during their summer league. I'm a little hesitant that I may be the worst on the team and may never actually play much, but I'm hoping that's not the case!! My boyfriend and some other friends are already on the team, so it should be lots of fun. They do silly themes too, like in the picture it's a mustache night :)

I'm loving all the fabulous deals I'm finding online!!

Do you get e-mails for all the sites? Groupon? Deal Finder? I get about 10 different e-mails with deals each day. So far just lately I've purchased boot camp classes, wine tasting and am thinking about Bar Method classes. Have any of you ever done Bar Method? Just don't want to collapse since I'm out of shape, although I guess the point is to get in shape!
